In the mountains of Kamak’ra, many miracles abound the forests, cliffs and lakes; but would only be a true miracle to the furless apes of the outside villiages named the Toran Shreyas, or the Ape Houses.
In their eyes, tales of dragons and gryphons are just stories for their cubs. Whether it ends in miracles or death, they don’t know the first thing about dragons. That’s because they see us as a mere myth.
I am Sorieadi, the Dragon Thief. This title was in fact not negative, as it was the one I earned for being a hero. I am a red dragon; a user of the flames. My gift was used unexpectedly.
All dragons lived together in the Volcanolands of More’Gradaf’Chan, or just Grade’cha for short. There were springs and geysers; lava pools and steam caves; and just about anything you could imagine in Volcanolands. The dragons here were hardworking yet very carefree… usually.
I did care about one dragon like no other. Her name was Loredia. She had golden scales and sandy-brown plates. Her eyes were green, almost as the grass. She was a lightning dragon; one among three. The other two were her nephews, yet they have no significance to the story.
There were many dragons who asked for her eternal love, even myself. However, there was one dragon in particular whom she would pay most attention to. He was a blue dragon who possessed the power to control water, and the dragon I’d always hated most. His name was Quarek, and there was nothing to like about him. Nobody was ever sure what Loredia saw in him.
But that day would be the day I would win her heart, and lose it once again. The day that most say I wish I’d done it different, but in fact I didn’t. I don’t regret what I did that day. I remember that day more than any other, and it’s the day that changed my entire life.
